The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today credited EVMs behind the Bharatiya Janata Party’s thumping win in the MCD polls.

Speaking to reporters here, Delhi’s Labour Minister Gopal Rai said that EVM malfunctioning by the Election Commission costed election.

“This is not Modi wave, this is an EVM wave. This is the same wave that they (BJP) used in the Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab polls," the AAP leader said, adding that the ‘party will analyze the loss’.

"We will do self assessment after the results are out. But every citizen has to see how they can save the nation and their rights to vote," he added.

Another party leader Ahsutosh too said that EVM tampering be credited for the BJP's victory. He also ruled out resignation of CM Arvind Kejriwal under whom the party had entered the fray.

"Sweeping Delhi MCD polls without sweeping Delhi's streets for a decade. When machines are with you, human will is of no relevance," AAP's media advisor Nagendar Sharma tweeted.

Meanwhile, senior AAP leaders, including Deputy CM Manish Sisodia met Kejriwal at his residence as trends showed the ruling party trailing severely in MCD polls.

The trends have indicated the BJP clearly sweeping all the three corporations in the national capital.
