Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of Congress legislature party in Lok Sabha, today accused the Narendra Modi government of deliberately delaying announcement of AIUML MP Parliamentarian E Ahamed’s death as it did not want to postpone the Union Budget.
Kharge further said that the delay in announcement was an “inhuman act” on part of the Modi government.
Talking to reporters ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget, Kharge said that Opposition parties including Congress, JD(U) and JD(S) believed that the budget should be postponed in view of E Ahmed’s death.
“In our opinion, including JDU leaders and former PM Deve Gowda, the budget should be postponed. Government already knew that he had passed away but they were trying to maybe delay announcement,” Kharge alleged.
“It is not March 31, there is a lot of time to present the Budget. Government can postpone it,” Kharge added.
