Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today launched a blistering attack on Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal for vociferously alleging misuse of EVMs during recent elections.

Addressing BJP workers in his bastion Gorakhpur, Adityanath coined a new acronym for EVMs saying ‘citizens of Delhi in the recent MCD polls have also proved that EVM stands for 'every vote for Modi'”.

Further, he heaped praise on PM Narendra Modi for his decision banning use of red beacons on VVIP vehicles.

Highlighting the works done by his government so far in the state, Adityanath said that there has been a transformation in law and order situation.

He also promised that those who don’t respect the law will be dealt strictly.

“We had urged earlier too, people who do not respect the law can leave UP and who don’t will be dealt strictly with,” Adityanath said.

Earlier in the day, former CM Akhilesh Yadav had once again questioned the credibility of EVMs saying ‘when petrol can be stolen with the help of a chip, there also were possibilities of misuse of the machines used during polls’.

BSP supremo Mayawati had also alleged misuse of EVMs in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections blaming it for her party's poor showing.
