New Delhi: British Prime Minister David Cameron has said that the United Kingdom will not deploy ground troops in Iraq as the government's position on the strife-torn country is clear.

“Britain will use all the assets including military prowess and aid to defeat the Islamic State militants,” the Prime Minister said.

An extreme Sunni Islam group, IS, is seeking to build a new Islamic state spanning Iraq and Syria. The group has seized large parts of both countries.

The British Prime Minister also said that there is no need to convene a Parliament session to discuss Iraq.

Meanwhile, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said that the UK's military involvement in Iraq could last for months and revealed that RAF surveillance aircraft are operating there.
