Asim Qureshi, the hard-line leader of the Muslim rights group Cage,  who earlier described Jihadi John as a beautiful man, fuelled  another controversy when he refused to condemn the stoning of women.

He was quizzed about his fanatical views including female genital mutilation, domestic violence and stoning as a punishment for adultery. He had appeared in a weekly programme on a private news channel.

While reiterating his stance that Muslims have every right to wage Jihad, he failed to speak out against the practises often advocated by him.

Qureshi hogged limelight for his remarks when he described the London-raised fanatic Mohammed Emwazi alias Jihadi John as a kind man.

” Mohammed Emwazi was an extremely gentle, kind, beautiful young man. He was extremely kind, extremely gentle and the most humble young person I ever knew,” he had said.

Later, he also accused the UK security agencies of radicalising young Muslims.

Jihadi John has gained notoriety as an alleged masked executioner of ISIS who features in the beheading videos of the hostages.

Under pressure from show's presenter who wanted Qureshi to condemn a series of his  extreme positions, including claims that homosexuality is evil and Jews are descended from pigs, he responded, ' I'm not a theologian' before adding: 'I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.'

He repeated his criticism of MI5 and the security services, claiming they helped to radicalise young Muslim men by mistreating them.

The cage research director also revealed he became anti-white at Whitgift School in Croydon, south London, one of the poshest schools of London.

Qureshi was born to Pakistani parents in Britain and – thanks to his mother's ice-cream business – was sent to 400-year-old Whitgift.

Meanwhile, Jihadi John's family  is 'living under constant  fear' after they have received death threats.

His sister, Shayma Emwazi, 23, has been tracked and abused on Facebook, forcing her to close her account.

She and the rest of Emwazi's family are now living under police protection in a secret location after Mohammed Emwazi was unmasked as Jihadi John.
