New Delhi: Mark Boyle, a resident of Bath, south west London is an Irish activist who can be called a true Gandhian.
An economics graduate, he made his mark (pun unintended) in the field of economics by finding a way out for Freeconomy Community, and for living without money since November 2008.
This unique idea came into his mind after watching the Richard Attenborough film Gandhi, based on the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
Mahatma's quote, “be the change you want to see in the world” became an inspiration for 34-year-old Boyle.
He was so moved by Gandhi's philosophy that he even went to Porbandar, Gujarat in 2008 to see his birthplace.
Though he had a Business degree and a good job in hand, he sacrificed both for moneyless living.
While he was living in Bristol, he managed a couple of organic food companies unless one day he realized that even "ethical business" would never be quite enough.
