New Delhi: India's most wanted terrorist and mastermind of the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, is all set to organise two-day massive gathering in Lahore next month which may see Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif as its one of the attendees.
The rallies will be organised on December 4 and 5 at Minar-e-Pakistan ground in the city.
Besides sending an invitation to the Pakistan Prime Minister, Hafiz Saeed has also invited the leaders of the ruling party, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), opposition party, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).
It should be noted that Lahore, which falls in the Punjab province of Pakistan, is ruled by Sharif's party, PML-N, and the local government here has given its nod to Saeed's massive show at Minar-e-Pakistan ground. Shehbaz Sharif, brother of Pakistan's PM, is the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Saeed is a major irritant in the already strained relationship between India and Pakistan as New Delhi has expressed its resentment over his not being brought to book for the Mumbai attack.
Saeed runs the Lahore-based Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), which he claims is a humanitarian charity. The JuD has been blacklisted by the US, which has described it as a foreign terrorist organisation.
The Indian intelligence agencies had recently said that Saeed, during his visit to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) after devastating floods in the Valley, asked the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant group to motivate the homeless and jobless youths of Kashmir and POK for joining militancy.
