Chennai: Over 300 American Naval personnel arrived at Chennai port aboard U.S. warship guided missile destroyer - USS McCampbell, on Monday to undertake a joint exercise later this week with the Indian Navy in the Bay of Bengal.
The exercise codenamed ‘Malabar' will take place from November 7 to 11.
The continuing series of exercises is meant to advance multinational maritime relationships and address mutual security issues.
The captain of the warship, Paul J. Lyon, said the naval personnel would showcase their expertise during the exercise.
