New Delhi: Ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to India as the chief guest at Republic Day parade next year, the US government has alerted the Government of India about possible terror attack in the national capital and Jammu and Kashmir.

This is the second alert issued by the US authorities. Few days back the US intelligence agencies had issued a similar alert.

Earlier this month, Delhi was put on high alert in the wake of terror attacks at an Army camp in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir.

Delhi Police and Nagaland Armed Police personnel have already sealed the VVIP enclosure and the main stage where Obama, President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be seating on January 26.

After the first terror attack alert by the US, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi had met National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and apprised him about the security measures.

Meanwhile, security has been also beefed-up in Agra after reports emerged that the US President may visit the Taj Mahal during his two-day trip to India on January 25 and 26.

Obama's surprise trip to India was announced last month when he accepted Modi's invitation asking him to be the chief guest at Republic Day parade next year.
