Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government will recommend CBI inquiry into the death of Sara Singh, daughter -in-law of jailed former state minister Amarmani Tripathi, in a car accident in Firozabad earlier this month.

"The government will go for a CBI probe into Sara Singh case and all documents related to it have been sought for the purpose," Principal Secretary (Home) Devashish Panda said.

Earlier today, Sara's mother Seema Singh met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and demanded a CBI inquiry, alleging that her daughter was murdered.

Replying to queries on the issue, the Chief Minister said that the government will do everything to satisfy the family.      "We will get the case probed thoroughly and impartially to the satisfaction of the family," Yadav told reporters after a Cabinet meeting here.

To specific question on demand for CBI inquiry, he said, "We will see...if required, it will also be done".

The Chief Minister said that security will be provided to the family as demanded by them from today itself.

Sara (27) was killed on July 9 when the car in which she was travelling overturned. Her husband Amanmani, who was driving the car, miraculously escaped unhurt, raising doubts over the accident. It was claimed that the car met with the accident as the driver attempted to save a cyclist in Firozabad district.

Sara's family, suspecting foul play, has been knocking the doors of the Raj Bhawan and top police brass of Lucknow demanding a CBI inquiry.

Seema Singh had called on Governor Ram Naik and apprised him of the case. She had pressed for CBI probe and was assured of help.

The family had also demanded narco-analyis test of her husband Amanmani and father-in-law Amarmani Tripath.

An FIR of murder was lodged against Amanmani Tripathi at the Sirsaganj police station of Firozabad on July 18, police said.

Seema Singh had raised objections over the post mortem report of her daughter saying that there was no mention of injury marks on her body nor was the autopsy conducted by a panel of doctors.

Amanmani's father Amarmani Tripathi, an influential politician from eastern Uttar Pradesh, is currently serving life sentence in the Madhumita Shukla murder case.    Tripathi was arrested in September 2003 in connection with the murder of poet Madhumita Shukla, with whom he allegedly had an affair. Madhumita was murdered on 9 May 2003.

The post mortem report of Madhumita revealed that she was carrying a foetus that matched the DNA of Amarmani and he and his wife Madhumani Tripathi were sentenced to life imprisonment in October 2007.
