Mumbai: Uber General Manager Shailesh Sawlani had to face the wrath of public anger that has erupted after the rape of a women executive by an Uber cab driver in Delhi.
An unidentified man today attacked Sawlani after he came out of a meeting with Mumbai Transport Commissioner. According to reports available, the man tried to hit Sawlani but could not reach him.
Uber General Manager had gone to meet Mumbai Transport Commissioner to discuss database of cab drivers. In the meeting it was decided that all radio taxi services will have to provide their driver databases by Thursday.
Uber is facing the heat after the rape incident in Delhi. Delhi govt has banned the services of Uber in the national capital.
The Asia-Pacific head of Uber, Alexander, flew in from Hong Kong and met senior police officials to cooperate in the investigation.
Police have already filed an FIR against Uber charging it for cheating its customers and defying government orders. Uber's executives were questioned by police for the second consecutive day today.
