Raipur: Three women Maoists, one of them carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on her head, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said today.

The cadres turned themselves in before police last evening citing disappointment with the movement “on account of exploitation of lower rank rebels and women by senior Naxal leaders”, Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elesela told PTI.

Of the surrendered, Maini Majji alias Kavita (24) was the most dreaded one and associated with the outlawed CPI (Maoist) since 2004.

She worked as member of Maoist's Bhairamgarh platoon-13 and also as a “section commander” of platoon-12 in Gangloor region, the ASP said.

Kavita carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on her head.  Besides, Seema Modiyam (30) and Sunita Telam (22) worked as a member of Local Operation Squad (LOS), Keshkal and Bhairamgarh Local Guerrilla Squad (LGS) respectively, he added.

Under the state government's policy, necessary assistance will be provided to the surrendered ultras, the ASP said.
