Mumbai, Apr 7 : Six men, some of them belonging to Chhota Rajan gang, on Friday night, attacked a police informer Ashraf alias Guddu, when he was returning home in Vadala.
The assailants threw bottles at him and attacked him with swords. Ashraf was admitted to Sion Hospital in a critical condition.
Ashraf told mediapersons that the assailants were from Nana company, the euphemism for Chhota Rajan gang.
Ashraf was attacked in the legs, abdomen, shoulder and head. Doctors said, the police informer was out of danger.
Suresh bhavar, senior police inspector, Vadala truck terminal police station admitted that Ashraf was an informer, and the assailants would be nabbed soon.
