Ranchi, March 27:  In a reshuffle in Jharkhand's police department, two IPS officers were promoted today.




Umesh Kumar Singh (DIG-Police Training Centre, Hazaribagh) has been promoted as Inspector General of Police and given the charge of police training, an official release said here.

Prashant Singh, till now IG-police training, has been transferred as IG-Jharkhand Armed Police, Ranchi.

Superintendent of Police (Jharkhand Special Task Force) D B Sharma has been promoted to the rank of DIG (Bokaro Range), the release added.

Sharma replaced Laxman Prasad Singh, who took over DIG, Jharkhand Armed Police.

Besides these officials, ten other IPS officers were also transferred in the reshuffle.
