New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday condoled the passing away of Dr MS Sanjeevi Rao.
In a condolence message to his son, Dr M Mangapati Pallam Raju, the President said, “I am extremely saddened to learn about the passing away of your father, Dr MS Sanjeevi Rao.”
Rao was a distinguished Parliamentarian and an able administrator who served the nation in different capacities.
A multi-faceted personality, he worked with distinction as a Union Minister during 1982-1984.
As a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Rao was always concerned about the welfare of the people of the state.
“In his death, the nation has lost an eminent personality who was always in touch with the grassroots of society,” the President said.
“I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and his colleagues and friends. I pray to the Almighty to give you and your family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss,” the President added.
Rao was also known for his interest in sports as well as various research activities.
