Mathura:  Taking exception to reported dining of some state government officials inside Bankey Bihari temple here, the temple management has issued show cause notice and sought explanation from two employees who they said were instrumental in arranging the event.

In 2004, a local court had banned dining inside the temple to maintain cleanliness.

“Officers are not guilty as they were unaware of the court order. However, Sevayat Acharyas Anand Kishor Goshwami and Jugal Kishor Goshwami were aware of the court order, yet Prasadam was arranged inside the temple.

“On the basis of CCTV footage, show cause notice is being issued to both the Goshwamis,” said Munish Sharma, manager of the temple.

“On the question of display of the court order inside the temple,” he said,”So many orders have been passed from the district courts and High Court and it is not possible to display all of them.”

About ten years ago restrictions were imposed by the court on taking Prasadam inside the temple.

“In order to maintain cleanliness inside Bankey Bihari temple, Civil Judge Junior division on October 30, 2004 had passed an order restricting any dining or Prasadam inside the temple,” Manager Sharma stated.
