New Delhi: The Ghaziabad police has deployed 20 policemen outside Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's apartment in Kausambi, after Intelligence Bureau issued an alert that the AAP leader was facing threat from water tanker and tender mafia gangs in Delhi.

Two police sub-inspectors are overseeing security arrangements outside his apartment, local police sources said.

The IB alert clearly says that threat to Kejriwal appear to be from entrenched interests in Delhi who are linked to water tanker and tender mafia gangs, who had been ruling the roost during the earlier Congress and BJP regimes.

The desperate mafia gangs can seek the help of criminals in Ghaziabad and UP region to target the chief minister, says the alert.

The UP police has decided to give Z-category security to Kejriwal after rightwing activists vandalised the AAP office close to his residence in Kausambi.

Two personal security officers alongwith  a pilot car  carrying five policemen will look after Kejriwal's security the moment he moves out of his residence.

Local intelligence unit in Ghaziabad has been asked to be on the vigil against suspicious elements moving near the chief minister.
