Visakhapatnam: The Indian Navy's three-dimensional capabilities in water, air and land will be on display on Sunday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

The 'Op Demo' of around 30 minutes will showcase the multi-dimensional operational tasks undertaken by various arms of the Indian Navy, at the RK Beach, in which warships, submarines and aircraft will participate.

Marine Commandos will also participate. This will be part of the International Fleet Review.

"While naval operations are versatile and complex, the demonstration will attempt to display some of the operations at sea to a distinguished audience," a naval official said.

"The range and scope of activities planned will demonstrate the way the Indian Navy and its men discharge their diverse and onerous responsibilities with professionalism, dedication and courage."

The demonstration includes high-speed manoeuvres by frontline warships, including launch and recovery of aircraft by aircraft carriers Vikramaditya and Viraat, special operations by Marine Commandos and a fly-past.

This would be followed by firing of weapons by ships and aircraft taking part in the event.

The penultimate event will be sky-diving. The demonstration will culminate with the release of a book on 'Maritime Heritage', followed by the International City Parade, one of the highlights of the fleet review.

Marching contingents from the navy, army, air force, Andhra Pradesh Police, National Cadet Corps, foreign navies as well as bands from the three services and visiting countries will participate.

Each foreign navy will also showcase their country's cultural heritage and march under their respective national colours. A hornpipe dance by the Sea Cadet Corps and tableaus will add vibrancy and colour.
