New Delhi: The fifth trial of India's Agni-IV missile was successful today. The last trial conducted by SFC of the army on December 2, 2014 was successful.

Agni-IV missile is equipped with 5th generation onboard computer and distributed architecture. It has the latest features to correct and guide itself for in-flight disturbances.

Here are the other facts how India's Agni 4 is far better than Pakistan's Shaheen 3 missile:

1) Agni-IV, capable of hitting a target at a distance of 4,000 kms wheareas Shaheen III has adistance of 2750 Kms.

2) Pakistan's ballistic missile programme has Gauri and Shaheen medium range and intermediate range ballistic missiles in its arsenal whereas India has  Agni-I, II and III and Prithvi in its  arsenal of the armed forces, giving them reach of over 3000 kms and providing the country an effective deterrence capability

3) Shaheen III can carry upto 1 ton of warhead along with it whereas Agni 4 can carry warhead of upto 2200 pounds or 1 ton but its high range proves to be more lethal than Shaheen III.

4) Agni IV is equipped with modern and compact avionics to provide high level of reliability compared to Shaheen III which is based on inertial navigation system and has low accuracy.

5) According to reports Shaheen III is a prototype of Chinese M-11 missiles which Pakistan purchased from China in the early 1990s whereas Agni Series missiles are totally indigenously developed.

Agni IV has the most accurate ring laser gyro-based inertial navigation system (RINS) and supported by highly reliable redundant micro navigation system (MINGS), ensures the vehicle reaches the target within two-digit accuracy.

The re-entry heat shield can withstand temperatures in the range of 4000 degrees centigrade and makes sure the avionics function normally with inside temperature remaining less than 50 degrees centigrade.
