Chandigarh, Aug 21:   As Gandhian Anna Hazare's fight against graft continues to attract crowds from different walks of life, eunuchs today came out in support of him.

Eunuchs in Haryana's Ambala district said they were planning to go to the national capital to extend their support to Anna's crusade against corruption.

“We are planning to go to Ramlila Maidan tomorrow to offer our support to Anna Hazare,” said an Ambala-based eunuch leader.

At a meeting in Ambala, they decided to extend every possible support to the anti-graft crusader, community leader Shabnam Mahant said.

“We are also part of the society and the menace of corruption affects us too,” Mahant said adding Anna Hazare had motivated people to raise their voice against “all-pervading corruption”.

“This stir should have been launched much earlier,” Mahant said and appealed to eunuchs across the country to extend their support to the Gandhian.

Another eunuch leader, Poonam, said Hazare was “leading a second freedom struggle against social ills like corruption and people are paying him regards like they used to do to Mahatma Gandhi”.

“The government should implement the Jan Lokpal Bill in toto as framed by team Anna,” Poonam said.

In Chandigarh and other parts of Punjab and Haryana, people took out marches, formed human chains and staged sit-ins amid waving of national flags, raising of slogans and singing of patriotic songs to show their support for Hazare whose fast in Delhi entered the sixth day today. PTI
