Elephant runs amok during Kerala temple festival, damages 3 cars

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 28:  A captive elephant suddenly ran amok on Wednesday night during the Padmanabhaswamy  temple festival procession, and damaged three cars, injuring three persons.




The incident took place at around 9:30 pm here.

Police and elephant squad arrived to control the animal. The elephant was given two tranquilizers but it continued to remain out of control.

Finally, with the help of local residents and the mahout, the elephant was tied with ropes  and brought under control.
