New Delhi, July 23: Just two days are left for Delhi University to begin this year's academic session, but some colleges issued eighth cut off list late tonight in what may be their last attempt to fill up seats with admissions reopened for some courses.

Hindu and Kirori Mal College reopened admissions for Commerce. Hindu, which had closed admissions for the course after the fourth list, issued the same cut-off in the eighth list at 96.26-99.25 per cent.

The cut-off for the course in KMC has been set at 95.75 - 95.99 pc. The college had closed admissions after the fifth cut-off, which was at 96 - 96.24.

Over 15 colleges, mostly off-campus, are yet to fill their seats for Commerce.

English and Economics are still available in six and 12 colleges respectively.

Almost all colleges have closed admissions for science courses. However, Mathematics is still available at Hans Raj and Kirori Mal.

B Tech in Computer Science is still available at Miranda House and Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences.

And, much to the delight of some of the future journalists, admissions for Journalism and Mass Communication has been reopened in Kamala Nehru College at a cut-off of 91.5-93.5 pc.

The fresh cut-off list also shows that many colleges still have substantial seats in the reserved categories that are yet to be filled, though not in all courses.  Admissions for the eighth cut-off will take place from July 23 to 25.

Classes for the new academic session are to begin from July 24.

This year Delhi University is introducing the new four-year undergraduate programme.
