Lucknow, Jun 28 :  The Chief Judicial Magistrate probing the mysterious death of Deputy CMO Y S Sachan in district jail hospital here has summoned the jailor and sought the post-mortem report and its video recording.

SSP DK Thakur has been directed by CJM Rajesh Upadhyay to produce the post-mortem report and its video recording, besides asking him to ensure presence of Jailor Bhimsem Mukund in his chamber on June 30, court sources said.

Sachan, an accused in CMO BP Singh murder case, was found dead under suspicious circumstance in the toilet of jail hospital here on June 22 following which Mayawati government ordered a judicial probe into the incident.

He was charged with materminding Singh's murder on April 2 through three shooters—RK Verma, Anand Tiwari and Vinod Shama—who were arrested by STF on June 17.

Jailor Mukund was on duty when Sachan was allegedly killed inside the jail.

An case of murder was registered at Gosaiganj police station following a complaint by Sachan wife.  Meanwhile, former CMO A K Shukla, who along with Sachan was booked for misappropriation of funds in April, today claimed that the charges against them were false.  “The case of embezzlement of funds against me and Sachan is totally false,” Shukla said.

In the FIR, it was alleged that Shukla misused his powers and helped his associates in withdrawing government funds by producing fake bills.
The bungling and misappropriation in health and family welfare department was detected during inquiry into murder of B P Singh.
Two UP ministers Babu Singh Khushwaha and Anant Kumar Mishra had quit over the controversy.

Clarifying his stand, Shukla said that he had nothing to do with the alleged corruption in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in the state and said the misappropriation of funds had taken place months after he left the department.

On allegations of misuse of power in hiring vehicles, Shukla said that all the vehicles were used by ‘Bal Mahila Chikitsalaya' and their bills and log books were verified by the respective superintendents, Additional CMOs and accountants.

Regarding anomalies in payments under the Blindness Control programme, Shukla said they were made after being verified by the district programme manager.  Meanwhile, when asked about the allegations of financial irregularities in the state's health department, Special DG Law and Order Brijlal said that an inquiry into the matter was on.

“Inquiry into the case is on and the guilty will be arrested,” he said. PTI
