New Delhi, Feb 13: High drama was witnessed in South Delhi when three personnel of Maharashtra's elite Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) were detained by Delhi Police for nearly three hours after they attempted to forcibly take 13/7 Mumbai blasts accused Naquee Ahmed's brother Taquee to Mumbai.

Taquee, who has raised objections to the arrest of his brother Naquee by the ATS despite being an informer for Delhi Police and Intelligence Bureau, alleged that he had been manhandled by the ATS personnel and was being forcefully bundled inside a waiting vehicle, official sources said.

He has filed a complaint with the Okhla Police station against the three ATS officials in which he has alleged illegal tresspassing, physical assault and threat to his life.

ATS sleuths arrived at Taquee's residence here with a notice seeking his appearance before them in Mumbai in connection with the blasts probe as he had failed to appear on previous summons.

Taquee asked them to ensure the presence of local police if they wanted to detain him following which the ATS men allegedly started hitting him.

This prompted the family of Taquee to call a PCR van which came within minutes.

The three ATS men were whisked away to Okhla Police station where they were detained by the police as they had not informed the local police before operating in their jurisdiction.

The ATS men were released after being detained for three hours.

The notice issued by ATS was under 160 Criminal Procedure Code whereby one is called as a witness and not as an accused.

When the same was pointed out to the ATS officials by the Delhi Police, they found themselves cornered.

Taquee's brother Naquee was arrested by the ATS for being allegedly involved in the 13/7 bombings, a charge contested by the family who said he was working as an informer for Delhi Police and Intelligence Bureau and was helping them in locating Yaseen Bhatkal.
