New Delhi: A Delhi motorist Saurav Rastogi on Thursday tried to overtake the cavalcade of Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, throwing  SPG securitymen and Delhi Police in a tizzy.

Robert Vadra was returning from Okhla when Saurav Rastogi, a resident of Multan Nagar, tried to overtake the cavalcade. Rastogi's car was trailing Vadra's cavalcade from Okhla to Amar Colony.

The two cars came side by side, and the securitymen directed Rastogi to move away. Instead, Rastogi revved up his car and overtook Vadra's car and the escort vehicle.

SPG men promptly informed Police Control room, and the local police, traffic police and a PCR van chased Rastogi's car and intercepted him.

Rastogi was questioned over his rash driving. He said he was unaware that a VIP was travelling in the cavalcade.

Delhi Traffic Police challaned him under Sec 184 (driving dangerously) of Motor Vehicles Act, Rastogi paid the fine, and moved away. End of story.
