New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday registered eight fresh FIRs in connection with its ongoing probe in the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.

The first FIR was registered against against 22 people on allegations of impersonation by certain people in respect of five candidates in the Vyapam conducted Pre Medical Test (PMT) 2011, who joined a medical college at Rewa.

The second case has been registered for impersonation by certain people in respect of 10 candidates in PMT-2012 held under Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (Vyapam), or the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB). These candidates also joined the Rewa medical college.

While the third case has been registered for cheating by impersonation in Constable Recruitment Examination 2013 (II), the fourth case registered for cheating by impersonation in PMT-2009 against six people, including five who secured admission in a medical college at Bhopal.

The fifth case has been registered against two people for cheating by impersonation in PMT-2009 and the sixth case registered against another accused on the same grounds in PMT-2009 conducted by Vyapam.

The seventh case has been registered against one person for cheating by impersonation in 2012 Police Constable Recruitment Exam held under Vyapam.

The eighth case has been registered on the same grounds against two others for the same examination conducted by Vyapam.

The FIRs were registered under charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and under the IT Act, Prevention of Corruption Act and the Madhya Pradesh Recognised Examination Act.

The CBI has already registered 19 FIRs and launched 11 preliminary inquiries into the scam in the Vyapam.

The Supreme Court on July 9 handed over the Vyapam cases to the central investigative agency. Over 40 people linked with the scam have died under mysterious circumstances.
