Jodhpur: Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu refused to at gur, chana and tea offered as breakfast inside Jodhpur jail on Tuesday morning.

He preferred to eat dry fruits and anaar(pomegranate) that he had brought with him inside jail, and also refused lunch, jail sources said.

Asaram told jail officials that he preferred home made food. Daliya was prepared at a jail official's house and then served to him, sources said.

Two Asaram supporters who were jailed for causing disturbance outside the court premises, are now working as helps for the godman inside the jail.  Two numberdars are also serving Asaram inside his jail cell.

The self-styled godman complained of mosquito bites throughout Monday night. He preferred to sleep inside the dispensary instead of his cell. He woke up at 6 am, and after nearly two hours, demanded Ganga water for bathing.

Jail officials dropped some Ganga water in a pail of water and the godman had his bath.

Jail sources said, Asaram sought to read morning newspapers which were full of stories related to his custody. His face was red with anger as he went on reading newspaper stories related to him. For some time, the godman continued to mutter curses, sources said.

Jail superintendent Rakesh Mohan Sharma claimed that Asaram was not being given VIP treatment. "There are 5 to 6 inmates alongwith him", he said.

The fact is that the cell is 10 ft x 8 ft and impossible to hold so many inmates together.
