New Delhi: In yet another cross border operation along the Indo-Myanmmar border, a combined Army and Assam Rifles unit ambushed and killed three People's Liberation Army's (PLA) militants in Myanmar on Saturday night.

According to a India Today report, the Indian Army carried out the surgical strike on Saturday night. The operation was carried out by troops of 11th battalion of the Assam Rifles and the 6 Dogra regiment.

"Our boys went 2.8 km into Myanmar and did this act in broad daylight. We even brought two bodies to our own side," Army sources were quoted saying to  India Today.

Eighteen soldiers from the Dogra unit were ambushed by suspected NSCN(K) guerillas in Chandel district on June 4.

Special forces of the Indian army had carried out a similar surgical strike inside Myanmar on June 8, killing about 20 insurgents believed to be responsible for deadly ambush in Manipur that left 18 Indian soldiers dead.
