Godhra, Gujarat, Oct 28: Eighteen people were killed when the tractor-trolley in which they were travelling collided with a speeding truck on the Godhra-Ahmedabad highway early Friday morning.
The mishap took place near Vaganpur village.
Fifteen people died on the spot, while 25 others were rushed to Godhra civil hospital, where four of them succumbed to injuries.
Four injured have been admitted to Vadodara civil hospital.
The villagers belonging to Malukatu village under Deogarh Baria tehsil were returning after a pilgrimage on the occasion of Gujarati New Year Day.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi has announced Rs one lakh ex-gratia for the kin of those killed and Rs 50,000 as expenses for treatment of those injured.
