New Delhi: The Supreme Court will today hear a plea seeking directions to CBI Director Ranjit Sinha to keep him away from ongoing probe and prosecution in 2G scam in view of allegations leveled against him for having frequent meetings with some of the accused in the 2G scam,
Special Public Prosecutor Anand Grover has already given his opinion on the controversy surrounding Ranjit Sinha.
Grover told the Supreme Court that Sinha's frequent meetings with several accused and their representatives in 2G case is "definitely improper" and the court should look into whether his conduct amounted to criminal contempt.
Grover also had urged the court to recall its order on knowing the name of the whistleblower who had leaked the documents including his guestlist register to advocate Prashant Bhushan, saying it should not insist on the issue.
The apex court also fixed for November 26 hearing of the plea of some of the accused in the 2G case that they be discharged.
