New Delhi: With the Delhi government’s road rationing odd-even formula set to return to the national capital from April 15, Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai today announced that women and cars carrying students will be exempted during the second phase.

The second phase of the odd-even scheme will be implemented in the national capital for 15 days starting April 15. It was first implemented from January 1 to 15 this year with an intention to curb pollution in the city.

The Delhi government has already announced that CNG vehicles would remain exempted from the restrictions during the second phase.

Earlier in January 2016, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had introduced an odd-even traffic plan for 15 days wherein odd numbered four wheelers were allowed to ply on odd dates and even numbered on even dates. Two-wheelers and CNG vehicles were exempted.

Experts have said that the impact on pollution was limited during this fortnight, though there was sharp drop in traffic congestion in the capital.
