Take necessary action against Pakistan, don’t write ‘love letters’: Nitish to PM

Extending his support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over India’s diplomatic offensive to isolate Pakistan following the Uri terror attacks, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today said the he along with ‘whole nation’ is behind the former.

"Take whatever action is required against Pakistan, we as a nation are behind you," Nitish said while addressing his party workers in Rajgir in Nalanda district today.

However, Nitish also advised Modi to stop writing ‘love letters’ to Islamabad. “We totally support PM Modi’s recent comments on Pakistan in just concluded BRICS Summit. His campaign to isolate Pakistan at the world stage should get tougher,” Nitish said.

On Sunday, at the gathering of the BRICS Summit, Modi called Pakistan the "mothership of terrorism".

"In our own region, terrorism poses a grave threat to peace, security and development. Tragically, the mothership of terrorism is a country in India's neighbourhood," Modi had said.

On the recent hoardings that lauded the courage of PM Modi in conducting surgical strikes, Nitish said: “Army should be lauded for carrying out such operations. Please remember you are the Prime Minister and act as the leader of the nation, not just the BJP.”

Army conducted the surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the LoC on early September 29 in a step to revenge the Uri terror attack which claimed lives of the 19 Indian soldiers.
