At least 27 people were killed and nine others injured after a private bus, travelling from Reckong Peo (Kinnaur) to Solan, rolled down a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Rampur on Thursday morning.
Civil and police administration started the search and escue operations and injured people have been taken to the nearest hospital.
The bus, carrying 36 passengers, met the accident on National Highway 5 near Rampur, around 120 kilometres from the state capital Shimla.
The Indian Express cited Deputy Commissioner Shimla Rohan Chand Thakur saying that rescue teams led by the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Rampur have reached the spot. The bodies were being taken out from the ill-fated bus.
