Major fire at Lok Nayak Bhawan in Central Delhi, all rescued

India News: A massive fire broke out inside Lok Nayak Bhawan near Khan Market in Delhi on Monday.

A massive fire broke out inside Lok Nayak Bhawan near Khan Market in Central Delhi on Monday. At least 26 fire tenders were rushed to the spot, ANI reported. Thick plumes of smoke has engulfed the building as firemen are battling to douse the fire. An official said the fire started at the fourth floor of the multi- storeyed building and the Delhi Fire Services a call around 4 pm. Lok Nayak Bhawan houses many government offices including those of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income-Tax.

"A call was received around 4 pm. Around 26 fire tenders have been pressed into service," the official said. 

Rajesh Pawar, fire officer present at the spot, said no casualties have been reported in the fire as all of the people present during the incident have been rescued. 

"25-30 fire tenders are here. This is a middle category fire. We cannot say when the fire broke out," he said.
