Kota: A 19-year-old coaching student from Bihar was killed while another was badly injured when the two were allegedly attacked by a mob of students armed with knives and rods in a student mess here on Friday.

The two were reportedly attacked last night by a group of students who have formed a local gang, said Ashok Sharma, ASI at Mahaveernagar police station.

A case has been registered under various sections against 10 identified and 15 unidentified students in this connection, he said, adding that the key accused Abhishek Tiwari and his close aides managed to flee after the clash.

Satyarth alias Satya Prakesh, a resident of Nabada district in Bihar was attacked by nearly 20-25 students while he was having dinner in a mess.

Satyarth died on the spot, he said, adding another coaching student from Bihar Sandeep Kumar (18), also sustained knife wounds and is undergoing medical treatment.

The deceased had been taking coaching for AIPMT in Kota for around three years and had been staying in the hostel room, the ASI said.

However, the other injured student had sought admission in a coaching institute here just five days ago, he added.

The gang has been operative in Mahaveernagar and Jawharnagar areas which accommodate prime coaching institutes of the city, the ASI said.
