A day after Pakistani troops killed three Indian soldiers and savagely mutilated the body of one of the jawans, Indian army today launched a massive counter attack along the Line of Control (LoC).

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army today violated ceasefire in in Bhimber Gali, Krishna Ghati and Nowshera sectors of Kashmir, prompting strong reacion from Indian side also.

Heavy shelling is going on in Nowshera, BG and Krishna Ghati sectors since 8.30 am.

The firing is underway at the entire Line of Control including areas at Poonch, Rajouri, Kel and Machil.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiran Rijiju have slammed Pakistan for it heinous action and said India will give a befitting reply.

"t is very unfortunate incident, we will give them a befitting reply," Rijiju said.

The entire Line of Control, the de facto border between India and Pakistan, is now a hot zone with firing at Poonch, Rajouri, Kel and Machil, said the army.

The Army said “their action” had caused heavy damages across the LoC on Pakistan side. The traffic movement on Neelum valley road in PoK has also been disrupted.

Indian soldiers were killed in Machil sector of the frontier Kupwara district on Tuesday.

 

"Retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act," the army said in a statement.

India lodged a strong protest with Pakistan against the killing and mutilation when the foreign office in Islamabad summoned deputy high commissioner JP Singh to condemn 'unprovoked ceasefire violations'. This was the second such incident in two months of an Indian soldier's body being mutilated. Just three weeks ago, Sepoy Mandeep Singh was beheaded not far from the spot.
