Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slated to arrive in India on a four-day state visit starting January 14.

According to reports, PM Narendra Modi will receive Netanyahu at the airport and possibly host a private dinner at his official resident -- 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

On January 15, official meetings between the two countries including the India-Israeli CEOs forum meeting have been fixed. Next day, Netanyahu and his wife Sara are likely to visit the Taj Mahal.

On January 17, Netanyahu will visit PM Modi’s home state Gujarat. Netanyahu and Modi will pay a visit to Gandhi Ashram, iCreate Technologies and Agriculture Centre for Excellence.

Officials familiar with the matter told IANS that a mega road show has been planned by the Gujarat government in Ahmedabad when Modi and Netanyahu arrive in the city on January 17.

A high-level meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary JP Singh, was convened on Monday at state secretariat to plan for the visit, and the pacts to be signed between the state and Israel during Netanyahu's visit.

The roadshow will be from the Ahmedababd airport to the Sabarmati Ashram, similar to that held during Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's visit. The task of arranging the roadshow and other functions has been assigned to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

Netanyahu will be the third world leader to visit the home state of PM Modi after he assumed office in May 2014. The first head of the state was Chinese President Xi Jinping who had visited Ahmedabad in September 2014. In September last year, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had held a mega roadshow with Modi when he had arrived here for annual summit.

On January 18, Netanyahu will fly out of Mumbai after a trade-oriented business meeting.
