Not just Mumbaikars but Indians all over excuse themselves on this day to savour some of most delicious dishes.

How can one avoid even thinking the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi without 'moodak'. So here we are with the list of dishes that one gulp down while being immersed in the festive celebrations:



Modak: It is said that even Lord Ganesha goes weak in the knees when it comes to 'Modak'. These are steam dessert dumplings prepared with a filling of coconut, kesar, almond, chashew nut, and elaichi. They can also be fried and served.



Thalipeeth: It is one of the most savoured dishes that prepared in every household on Ganesh Caturthi. It is equally healthy as it is prepared using 5 kinds of flours.



Motichur ladoo: Considered one of Lord Ganesha's favorites, motichur ladoo is prepared and served as prasad to our deity Lord Ganesha they are also known as boondi ladoo.



Bisi Bele Bhaat: It is a traditional dish of Karnataka that is prepared especially for the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The dish is basically a form of sambar-rice prepared with fragrant spices and vegetables.
