The app which is now fourth top rated application in Apple store was initially designed as feedback tool at workplace but it soon gained popularity among teens who started using it on Snapchat. This secret messaging application helps to realise one’s strength and areas of improvement. Unlike other social networking platforms, Sarahah neither has reply mechanism nor does it reveals the identity of sender of a message.
In the words of Sarahah itself : "Sarahah helps you in discovering your strengths and areas for improvement by receiving honest feedback from your employees and your friends in a private manner."
The application is available free of cost on Android and iOS. After creating an account on Sarahah, one can share their profile on social media so that they can start receiving messages. One who hasn’t registered on the app can also send texts.
Sarahah has been kept simple with just three sections. One section shows received messages while the other two are for marked and sent messages. It also has a search option which can be used to look for users. As the app has no reply option, one can share the anonymous message with a remark on their Facebook, Twitter or other social media accounts.
Sarahah can be fun but even people can be a cyber-bully and rude on internet. Some say that it will give rise to cyber bullying as anonymity to trollers simply means encouraging them more. If your sentiments get hurt very soon, Sarahah may not be a very good option to go for.
