TV celebrities share thier Raksha Bandhan plans for the year

'Raksha Bandhan' is a famous festival of Hindus. It is also called the festival of 'Rakhi'. It falls on Purnima or full moon day. It is celebrated across all over India. 'Raksha' means protection and 'Bandhan' means bound. Thus 'Raksha Bandhan' means the 'Bond of Protection'. On this day, Sisters tie a special band on their brothers' wrist as a mark of affection. This thread is called the 'Rakhi'. The brothers in return takes a lifelong vow to protect their sisters. On the day of Raksha Bandhan, brothers and sisters reaffirm their pious bonds of affection. Here our televisions actors shares about their Rakhi plans.

Aneri Vajani

My brother who has shifted to Delhi recently and this will be first time when he is away. So he is coming home for rakhi celebrations. We are going to enjoy the occasion with cousins.

Tejasswi Prakash

For Rakhi its a family time, My brother Pratik owns me for the day, we enjoy together from foods to shoping and surprising each other. Every Rakhi we make good memories and will continue this year too.

Pearl V Puri

I will be missing my sister (Reet Vohra) this Rakhi as I couldn't make it possible to be with her for the occasion. But we are going to connect over phone and Video calls and spend time talking. I have send her special surprise parcel and I'm sure she will love it. Have lots of love and regards for her.

Aparna Dixit

My rakhi celebrations are going to be different this year as I have all the time to celebrate, chilling and eating. Also I do expect a lot of gifts but I end up only giving gifts instead of receiving. My brother is soo young that I cant ask him to gift. But sure once he start earning will ask him take me for shoping.

For Rakhi I'm travelling. First will be celebrating in Mumbai in the morning. Then flying to Delhi and enjoying with sister their. And at last in Jaipur. Night with family eating and enjoying quality time at home is always happening.

I'm traveling and enjoying the Rakhi function. I will be at kolkata celebrating with my brother in the morning. I have lots of surprises for him which he going to love for sure. And then I'm going to meet my sister-in-law at Kolkata airport and get back to Patna (my In-laws home) along her and celebrate Rakhi with her in the evening. Me and my husband has lots of plans with her too as its her first Rakhi post marriage.

For celebrating the occasion of Rakhi will meet my sisters. We also perform small Puja at one of my sister's place. And we all party right after that.

For me Rakhi celebrations are family time at home. We all sisters and brothers gather together at home and enjoy our day having fun and food. We also watch a movie. Me and my sister Muskaan (Mihani) has special surprises for each other on the day.

My sister is very special to me. She is my life line. We dont need a specific day to celebrate but we enjoy every day and occasion together. For Rakhi we surprise each other and spend some good time. Rakhi for me is a family time.

For Rakhi, I will be missing my younger sister. My family is in US this year. But I am as usual celebrating with Zoe (Pug) It will be thirteenth year of Rakhi celebration with him.

This year for Rakhi celebrations, when my sister will be coming to home. I would want to take my family for an outing and relive those childhood memories and do the same things which we haven't done in a while as a family.

Rakhi time is always special to me. I enjoy the occasion with my brother, Upen Patel and Sohan Thakur. Every year I tie them the Raksha-Sutra and enjoy quality time with them. I am really thankful and blessed having them as my brother. They always care about me, its not only the relation for Rakhi we share but the pure bond we stand every now and then.

For Rakhi Ill be celebrating it with my sister over phone. We both will have video conversation and tie  ourselves. I'll also visit Sidhi Vinayak temple to offer Rakhi to my Ganu Bhaiya.

For the occasion of Rakhi I'm visiting my sister's place and spending good time with her, having food and sweets to gifting her surprises. She owns a very big place in my heart. Before I ask something for myself from God I alway pray to keep her happy, blessed and fulfilled.

For Rakhi, I'm visiting my Saathiya's onscreen brothers, Pratap and Paras and will have Online visit with Vishal Singh as he is in Indonesia. My brothers are at Bangalore so will be talking to them too. And will enjoy my day with my elder sister who is no less then a brother for me. 

Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated in India on 7th August, 2017 on Monday. It can be celebrated from morning 11:07 am to 1:50 pm.  Lunar eclipse is also falling on the same day, from 10.52 pm to 12.22 am.
