New Delhi: This year is almost over with just few months left. Hollywood has already delivered some blockbusters like Transformers: Age of Extinction, Maleficent, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla and saved best for the year end.

Here is a list of five films you must watch this year.

 

interstellar

Interstellar
Next adventure of the director Christopher Nolan, ‘Interstellar', is a science fiction. Interstellar based on a script developed in 2007 by Jonathan Nolan. The film captures the journey of a team of space travelers who travel through a wormhole. Nolan roped in theoretical physicist Kip Thorne as an executive producer and a scientific consultant for the film. Interstellar is inspired by his own research. Interstellar features an ensemble cast of Michael Caine, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway in leading roles. The film will have a limited release in USA on November 5.  It will release internationally on November 7.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
The concluding film of ‘The Hobbit' trilogy is releasing on December 17 worldwide. The film ends where the story of ‘Lord of the Rings' begins. The film captures the final battle of five armies. Based on the legendary novel of J. R. R. Tolkien ‘The Hobbit' is the sixth film set in fictional land of middle earth. It would be really interesting to see how the dreadful dragon ‘Smaug' is killed by the armies of Dwarves. Directed by Academy Award winner director Peter Jackson, 'The Hobbit' is supposed to have a great deal of visual effects.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1
The third film of the ‘Hunger Games' series is a treat for film series fans. Starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role it is based on the third novel of ‘Hunger Games' book series. Hunger Games: Mockingjay is being made in two parts. The first part is slated to release on November 21 in USA. Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part-1 will release in India on November 28. It was the last film of deceased actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. The film also pays tribute to the Academy Awards winner Hoffman.

Exodus: Gods and Kings
Known for his heavy budgeted historical dramas and science films, Ridley Scott is taking you to the ancient Egypt. A biblical epic film, ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings' is inspired by the life of Prophet Moses. The film has taken references from Old Testament Book of Exodus. ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings' stars Christian Bale in the leading role. It is slated to release on December 12 in USA and India.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb
The third film of the ‘Night at the Museum' series is coming for us after a long wait of five years. Reprising the role of a museum guard Larry Daley, Ben Stiller promises us a fun adventure through the history. ‘Night at the Museum:  Secret of the Tomb' is supposed to reveal some secrets of the American Museum of Natural History. Final film of the trilogy, ‘Night at the Museum' is slated to release on December 19 in India and USA.


The five films mentioned here are not the only films you would want to watch. Making a list of five most awaited films of the year 2014 was a tough task and we had to leave out many good films. Films such as Keanu Reaves starring ‘John Wick', Brad Pitt starring ‘Fury' and Jim Carrey starring ‘Dumb and Dumber To' can be look forward to.

Two of the best directors of entertainment industry Clint Eastwood and Tim Burton are bringing you films like ‘American Sniper' and ‘Big Eyes' too but they were left out due to some technicalities. Known for his off-beat low budget films Seth Rogan is returning with ‘The Interview'. Film enthusiasts are waiting to see how well Angelina Jolie performs as a first time director with ‘Unbroken'.
