Despacito has already established itself the summer anthem around the world. No matter how cryptic the lyrics are for us, we just love the sound of it. Isn’t it? Now we have another reason to fall in love with Luis Fonsi’s Despacito. Indian choreographer Shiamak Davar took the song to a whole new level with his Indian version of the song. The music video is viral on internet and the original singer of the song Luis Fonsi couldn’t stop himself from praising it.

Universal Music on Thursday posted a video named India Dance Video of Despacito with National Award Winning choreographer Shiamak Davar. In the video, you can see a number of Indian women dressed in white shorts and later in black sari showing off their best dance moves. Shiamak Davar along with Universal Music Group launched the #despacitomovement to celebrate the immense popularity of this Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee song in India.

Owing to the popularity of this Indian version of Despacito, the original Puerto Rico singer Luis Fonsi appreciated the Indian version of his song. He released a statement saying, “Despacito' dance video! You've taken Despacito to the next level! Thank you so much."

Shiamak Davar shared his experience while shooting the music video. He says, “When Universal Music approached me to direct and choreograph the India video, I was very excited. They wanted a flavour of India with a global appeal. My dance company and I had a great time working on this video."
Devraj Sanyal, MD and CEO of Universal Music India and South Asia, also said, “Shiamak is the original dance guru and what he's created with the video is sheer magic by capturing the true Indian essence in a gigantic Spanish song."

"We are confident that this will take Despacito to a whole new audience in India while at the same time showcase the beauty and grace of Indian dancers to a massive global audience out there," Sanyal  added.

On Friday night, YouTube’s official page tweeted the news that Despacito dethrones Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again to become the most watched YouTube video. Last month, See You Again surpassed Psy’s Gangnam Style to become the No. 1 video on YouTube.
