New Delhi: Tabu, an actress considered as an epitome of talent and grace has turned 43 today.

Fewer actresses in the industry can show such brilliance with their achievements that Tabu has done.

Apart from contributing in making Bollywood an amalgamation of meaningful cinema, Tabu has also proven that talent and acting prowess can mold the cinematic effect that nothing else can. No fuss, no controversies have surrounded this actress ever and her Bollywood journey so far comprises all kinds of accolades and special acclaims.

As the lady of ultra elegance and exceptional talent celebrates her 43rd birthday, here follows the list of her memorable on screen performances. Take a look!

Maachis: The film offered her the first critically acclaimed performance. Her role as a Punjabi woman caught in the rise of Sikh insurgency was appreciated. She went on to win her first National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance.

Virasat: In the year 1997, Tabu went on to do her one of the most remembered films till date, Virasat. The film was not only critically hit but also garnered big at the box office. Tabu looked extremely enthralling playing Gehna and the character made her won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress.

Chandni Bar:Playing Mumtaz Ali Ansari, Tabu presented herself as a bar dancer. And this Madhur Bhandarkar directorial proved Tabu's magnificence of carrying an entire film on her sole shoulders. The film set a bench mark of critic acclaim and also raised standards of an actress in Indian cinema. Her performance in the film credited her second National Film Award for Best Actress.

Cheeni Kum: The film served to an unconventional subject and Tabu was again thoroughly praised for her acting stints in the film. Despite megastar Amitabh Bachchan playing the lead opposite the lady, Tabu exceptionally executed her character and did justice to this modern love story.

Haider: And her most recent instance of on screen brilliance has been carved by Vishal Bahradwaj in Haider. A multi starrer film having grounds with Shakespearre ‘Hamlet,' Haider had Tabu playing the character of Ghazala who happens to be physically intrigued towards her son. Though the film has garnered rave views, Tabu's performance has alone been considered as the most powerful one.

The other films of the lady - The Namesake, Maqbool, Hu Tu Tu, Astitva – all have defined Tabu and her persona as something truly unmatchable and inspiring.
