Deepika Padukone took a stand for Shweta Basu Prasad a few days back and we truly applaud her for speaking her heart out on something, which most of the other celebs remained mum on.

Her stance of not making this issue a ‘scandal' is the most appreciating thing we found in the entire statement. However, talking about the rest of the statement, we see neither logic nor any justification to it.

On expressing her views about Shweta and the entire issue, Deepika said, "Let me put it this way – if that was the only thing she could do to support herself and family and it was the only way she could make money, there's nothing wrong with that. Like a lot of people saying, I think it's extremely unfair that since we know who she is, why are we not supporting her?

She further added, “Why are we making this a scandal? Instead, now that we know she has these issues, why don't we step forward and help her? Why do we not talk about the people who hired her to do what she's doing? I don't think we should look down on her for it but instead get together and support her."

Now let us put our viewpoints here:

First, How justified is to seek ‘prostitution' as the very last chance of survival? We'll again like to ask that whether you think a popular face like Shweta failed to garner that much of effect that she could not even find a decent job for the survival of her and her family?

Though it is nobody's business to judge her deeds or put their verdict on the things, but if the reason behind her stints happens to be money, we are forced to say again that nothing can justify her step.

Now, talking about the revelation of the names of businessmen who hired Shweta for sexual advantages, don't you think it was a simple ‘give and take' relationship?

A few bunch of high-profile people demanded pleasure that Shweta willingly accepted to favour them in lieu of money. Did they force her, no! Was she raped, no! The lady wanted to make money whether to support herself or her family or because she became the easy victim of glamour world.

Also, here's a question to Shweta's on screen mother, Sakshi Tanwar who also openly supported the talented actress. Sakshi wrote a huge letter in which she made many prominent points. And expressing how close Shweta was to her, she even mentioned, “Our bond grew so strong that since then, for the past 13 years, she has wished me on Mother's Day every single year. Beyond a warm and sweet gesture that is a reflection of the values she has grown up with, I would ask her about her studies and work, and she would always reply with confidence and assurance that all is well.”

Now, here I have a question; why the girl who was apparently so close to her on screen mother, didn't even hint Sakshi before taking such a big step? Why the girl who had such a great bond with the actress didn't feel the need to involve in such great decision of her life?

When we asked our readers to express their views, some of them came up with actually impressive perspectives. A few of them are listed below:

Ridhima Waliya - “She is a grown up girl. She knows what is right and wrong both morally and practically too. How can be so dumb that she decided to sell her body to face all the odds that she mentioned she was facing.”

Gorang Patel - “I know a girl who despite getting an engineering degree unable to find a right job and therefore working as an assistant in a beauty salon. Should she push herself into ‘Prostitution,' coz even she wants to support her family and her destiny has done no good to her too.”

Alia Shekh - “There are many ladies around who work so hard, some as maids, baby-sitters, helpers, care takers etc. to let their children study in a good school and to financially back their family, should all of them resort to Prostitution?”

Neha Mehta - “Forget every one, where were her parents when she decided to go on to such periphery? Did they know about it?”

Many questions, many more doubts comprising my perception on the entire issue. Falling to the thrust of a simple question that How can a popular face like Shweta Basu Prasad becomes so helpless that she couldn't suffice herself with a decent job and easily accepted ‘prostitution' as the last escape?  - I rest my case!
