New Delhi: Popularly articulated as a ‘creative director', Sanjay Leela Bhansali may have a different approach in bringing out things for his flicks but that's the way he likes to work and doesn't pay any heed to what others think of him.

He was criticized for his aggressive and loud methodology of directing flicks by two of his ‘friends'- Salman Khan and Karan Johar and naturally Sanjay Leela Bhansali was shocked.

While he respected the advice of taking lessons from Sooraj Barjatya by Salman Khan, over Karan Johar he wonders ‘why anyone would say I've gone into darkness'.

In an interview to a leading daily, the director applauded Salman Khan saying that he was, is and will always remain a close friend and even if his feeling is reciprocated, he believes that Salman still cares for him deeply.

Over Karan Johar, with whom he is sharing a cold war these days as reported by media reports for stealing the lead cast of Deepika and Ranveer from ‘Shuddhi' and putting them into his next ‘Bajirao Mastani', Bhansali said that he's unable to understand ‘why someone, who you think is a friend, would publicly talk ill about you. Karan and I have had great moments together', he said in an interview to a leading daily.

Over casting Deepika-Ranveer in his next flick, he said that he spoke to them about ‘Bajirao Mastani' during the post-production of last year's hit ‘Ram-Leela'. “As far as I knew, Hrithik (Roshan) and Kareena (Kapoor) were doing “Shuddhi”. I would never steal a friend's actors. I had my cast in place, so I didn't need anybody's permission. I've never had an ambition to become the most powerful man in the industry. I'm in the happiest phase of my life. I'm working more than 12 hours a day. “Bajirao Mastani” is looking exciting. I don't understand why anyone would say I've gone into darkness”, the director was quoted as saying by a leading daily.

Well, SLB surely knows how to maintain terms in the industry!
