Chennai: "Madras Cafe" famed actress Raashi Khanna, who is making her Telugu debut in upcoming romantic-comedy "Oohalu Gusagusalade", says the experience of working in a new industry helped her grow as an actor as well as person.

"My journey of working in Telugu filmdom has helped me grow as an actor and person. I think it's very important to grow as a person from the experiences you encounter in life. I believe I have realised this while working in this film," Raashi told IANS.

"I also learnt the technicality of acting but growing as a person was most important for me and I will cherish it," she added.

Raashi felt respected working on the film, which features a team of first-timers.

"The overall experience has been great and I was respected by my team. Since most of us were first-timer, we worked with a lot of passion. Moreover, my director believed in me since the first day and that helped me personally to perform better," she said.

Raashi plays a character called Prabhavati in the film and transforming into it was her biggest challenge.

"I play a very strong-headed woman who is egoistic. She has shades of grey and she's not typical. There was a time when I wouldn't connect to the character and my director would remind me of the shades of grey in the character. It's very different from who I am as a person," Raashi said.

"The biggest challenge was to convince myself that I could transform into Prabhavati. While rehearsing and shooting, I felt like watching myself acting but when I finally saw the film I saw my character come alive on screen. All credit goes to my director," she added.

Directed by Srinivasa Avasarala, "Oohalu Gusagusalade" features Nag Shourya in the lead. It is produced by Sai Korrapati.
