New Delhi: One of the most loved directors of Bollywood - Sanjay Leela Bhansali, organized a surprise party for Priyanka Chopra on Friday night.
Bollywood was in full attendance to celebrate Priyanka's special day. Surprisingly, this time not just the young brigade but legends like Rekha, Gulzar, Somi Garewal too graced the party.
A source quoting to a leading website said, “Priyanka was in Turkey on her 32nd birthday and she couldn't celebrate it with her loved ones, so Bhansali thought of throwing a surprise bash for her.
The other who attended the party was Priyanka's cousin Parineeti, Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Hrithik Roshan, Farah Khan, Vidya Balan with husband Sidharth Roy Kapur, Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Bhardwaj, newbie Patrlekha and Rajkumar Rao among others.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali confirmed that he hosted a party for her. “Priyanka's passion, her fire and the intensity with which she works and acts just makes her sparkle,” he said to a leading daily.
Other than these Bollywood bigwigs the entire cast and crew of 'Mary Kom' were present for the celebration. This was also like a wrap-up party for the film's crew.
The actress's spokesperson said, “Priyanka had a working birthday this year, so Sanjay Leela Bhansali decided to host a party to celebrate the same.
This is the first time that the filmmaker has done something like this for one of his actors.”
Parineeti and Aditya who are all set for the release of their movie ‘Daawat-e-Ishq', which will clash at the box-office with ‘Mary Kom' on September 5 looked great together.
Just few days back, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali compared Priyanka Chopra to Hollywood actor Hilary Swank, who portrayed the character of a boxer in her Oscar award-winning film Million Dollar Baby.
Priyanka Chopra will be seen playing Olympic medal-winning boxer Mary Kom in a biopic produced by Bhansali.
"If they have Hilary Swank, we have Priyanka. She is a great talent and adds spark to her performance. As an actress I think she is in the league of Nutanji and Waheedaji," Bhansali told reporters at the trailer launch of Mary Kom.
‘Mary Kom' is slated to release on September 5.
