New Delhi: Godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan is the latest superstar of Bollywood as his debut film has made record opening at the box office. MSG: The Messenger that released on February 13, Friday has apparently earned Rs 89 cr at the box office.

The movie has successfully outshined the commercial attraction 'Roy' starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez. Though the reports are not confirmed yet but the film has earned Rs 89 cr in just six days.

After much controversy with Censor Board, the film was reportedly released with 70 percent occupancy. Despite the ban by the Punjab government in Chandigarh and Panchkula, the film was reportedly screened 73 times on the opening day. Apart from releasing the film in 4000 screens across the country, it was further released in 500 screens abroad.

As reported the Financial Express, all the nine days were jam packed, completely booked in advance, and there had been three lakh bookings across PVR outlets in Delhi-NCR.

As quoted by the daily, "This is an unprecedented response. Usually we have 5-6 daily shows for a movie but seeing the response, we increased the shows," said a PVR spokesperson had said. On the eve of its release, ardent followers had also gathered at PVR Cinema in Select Citywalk in the national capital for an exclusive premiere of "Guruji's movie."

Although the movie has received mixed reviews from pandits, but it seems Guruji's diehard fans are leaving no stone unturned to make his film a super duper hit.
