New Delhi: When Salman Khan asked Madhuri... 'Hum Aapke Hai Kaun?' romance boomed around the entire nation.

Our entire childhood was spent viewing even the repeat telecast of this block-buster movie by Rajshri productions.

'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' starring an ensemble cast including Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixi, Anupam Kher, Alok Nath, Mohnish Behl, Renuka Shahane, Reema Lagoo and some more unforgettable characters.

Who can forget family's pet dog 'Tuffy', one of the most important character in itself.

Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the movie under the banner of Rajshri Productions was released in 1984 and today it completes 20 successful years. One can sit up and watch this movie with same emotions repeatedly without fail; such is the magic that still remains intact.

Those melodious track, cuddling romance, masti, and tragedy are still afresh in our minds, so here we bring in for you some memorable moments from the film...

1. When Prem first met Nisha

Unlike the usual 'mulaakat (meeting)' between a girl and boy, the scene saw Nisha (Madhuri) acting up as the account manager dressed up in a loosely-fit printed shirt, donning a 'pagdi' and specs making her barely noticeable, when Prem (Salman) comes in search of information about his uncle's friend.

The two get into a small misunderstanding and soon the chirpy Nisha reveals her beauty as she sheepishly excuses herself when she realizes that Prem's uncle is her father's friend.

2. Nisha deliberately pricks Prem with brooch

The entire family is busy with preparations for the 'tilak' ceremony when Prem takes Nisha out near the pool area to show his brother's finest painting so far, ends up revealing his own portrait.

Nisha too gives him the gift sent by his soon to be sister-in-law Pooja (Renuka Shahane). Prem then asks Nisha to place the brooch and at that very moment, Nisha pricks in the pin from brooch into Prem. (Remember ‘jab chubhta hai toh aisa hi lagta hai).

The moment is till date one of the unforgettable moments from the film.

3. When Mamiji tastes the 'salty-halwa'

Rita is eyeing Prem whom she wants to marry and in order to impress him, she prepares his favourite dish 'halwa'. But due to her non-cooking skills, she ends up mixing salt instead of sugar turning the entire dish into havoc.

Lallu then announces about the delicious halwa to the entire family and asks Rita's aunt (Bindu) to taste it first. She too out of excitement puts a handful inside her mouth only to find the burning sensation caused by excessive salt.

This hilarious scene has been practiced by many mischievous elements nationwide on their family members.

4. Nisha's cousin and his Shakuntala

Nisha has this nerdy cousin played by 'Dilip Joshi' who is researching on the topic 'Shaktuntala' from epic tales. The family teases him saying he's on the lookout for his 'shakuntala' too.

He finds one too in face of Prem's friend Rita, and they are both often shown in the dream sequence enacting their characters.

5. Prem & Lallu are welcomed to the 'papad-cot'

In all the Indian weddings, we see the naughty moments enjoyed by both the groom's and bride's family and here too Nisha plans to play a prank on Prem.

When the groom's side arrives with the baraat, Nisha directs Prem and Lallu to a specially decorated cot for them to sit, which is then revealed to be laden with 'papad' all over.

6. Prem and his buddy Lallu are fooled by Nisha and her friends

Being the only brother of the groom, Prem starts showing off his prowess and with his buddy Lallu makes a plan to hide away his brother's shoes to avoid 'joota-churai' (a ceremony highly popular in Indian weddings).

Pooja sensing the situation plans to fool Prem by sending one of her friends saying he has an urgent call-in-waiting. Prem allots the responsibilities of the footwear to Lallu who too is fooled in a similar manner and thus 'Tuffy' comes to their rescue who reveals Prem about the place where Nisha and her friends hid the 'groom's footwear'.
