New Delhi: The new weekend has begun and the new movies have hit the theatres to take the lead at box office. But as per reports, this week isn't going to be much different from past three weeks. Despite renowned names attached, flicks have been failing click at box office.

Happy Ending has ended its one week with just over Rs 20 cr nett amount in India. However, the Saif Ali Khan, Ileana D'Cruz and Govinda starrer received mostly positive reviews but it failed to win over audience. Also it was solo release last week, which is not the case today.

Over five films have released today alongside Hollywood's ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1', which too is anticipated among Indian viewers. Out of the five movies, Ungli, Zid and Zed Plus are the one's which will battle it out at the box office this week. However, the first two are better competitors since the third one doesn't possess a good star cast.

Ungli movie review

Looking at the response, the morning shows for Ungli starring Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, Kangana Ranaut and Sanjay Dutt have gone dull. The reviews it has received are mixed but it has to be seen what would be the footfall in the evening shows.

Zid, however has a fresh cast including Karanvir Sharma, Priyanka Chopra's sister Mannara, but is expected to fetch good amount considering it's an erotic thriller and according to a leading daily Koimoi, the movie is fetching more audience than ‘Ungli'.

Mannara in Zid hot trailer

The hot trailer containing explicit content has already gone viral and has mostly attracted youth. Compared to the multiplexes, Zid will perform better in single screens.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 starring Jennifer Lawrence may steal the show considering its action genre and is already a brand. But let's see how the weekend shapes up for all these movies.
